Another Powerful Owl?

Last night, SOMETHING killed this Brushtail Possum and devoured the front half of it. Kathy found it in our back yard this afternoon. Out here, foxes are common and would normally be the immediate suspect, but this kill doesn't match our experience of fox operandi. Until recently we wouldn't have considered the possibility of a Powerful Owl here in Wamboin. However, a very credible source (Geoff Butler, who lives about 3 km as the Powerful Owl flies from us) recently heard a PO calling near his place, and this, together with the ANBG visitor this week makes me wonder. Any thoughts?
