This is such a useful investigative comment from
Leo. It reduces the temptation to go and find these things ourselves and gives a
different answer to any concern we might have that it is not eating locally. It
would be worthwhile for someone to follow up on this. There are many published
studies already, of the diet of the Powerful Owl. Long ago it was thought to be
a specialist feeder of possums but the species has shown itself to be much
broader in diet, according to what is available. It might do some "good"
by reducing the number of Currawongs there.
