I have been informed that one of the ANBG gardeners found the remains of
a sugar glider under the Powerful Owl (any nicknames yet?) early this
morning (Wednesday) and 'cleaned them up'. The gardeners start well
before the gardens open to the public, so if anyone has a particular
interest in the owl's diet it might pay to liaise with the gardening staff.
I had wondered about that. On Sunday, there was no half-possum
(pos? sum?) gripped by the P'Owl nor on the ground; I was a little
concerned about it going hungry.
I'm perhaps more surprised with the latest info. that it's preying on
Sugar Gliders; Brushtails and/or Ringtails would seem more worthy a
meal for such a formidable bird - but I guess we're all prone to pick
out the sweeties when they're on offer.
