Outside my office window at Russell at lunchtime today, an
Australian Raven flew past carrying a golfball in its beak
and carefully hid it in the grass on the nearby slope.
I assume it will return later to retrieve it and try and
crack it open. I've seen other ravens caching items
(presumably food) in this area before - but not golfballs.

I'm not sure where it got the golfball from; the nearest course
is at Duntroon. It may have been dropped by someone walking
through in the area (e.g. from a sports bag), or possibly
from the parkland closer to the lake.
