I'd give it a 99+% chance on being an aviary escaper or releasee, and a <1% chance on being a long distant wild bird. Not that my opinion is proof. I think it would be a GBS first (certainly there were none for the first 21 years). As most of us will have noticed from the GBS report, there are already many parrot species that don't occur naturally in our area, that are recorded within the suburbs and on GBS charts.
 
I think the aviculturists in Canberra should stay in contact with this  list and get the latest info on where their latest lost birds have got to.
 
I don't know how many people are interested, there is a whole e-mail chat line called "feral naturalised parrots", although that is mostly interested in tracking the progress of things like Rose-ringed Parrots in Europe, and a few other cases.
