This morning, while walking the dog at first light, I saw a pair of pigeons on a power line whose silhouette did not look like the normal feral pigeons. I didn't have my binos, but I had a camera, so I snapped 2 quick pics of one of them before they flew off and have now had a look at it and it is clearly a Spotted Turtle Dove. I have seen these down the coast but, being a novice, I don't know whether they are common around here, hence this posting. Leo. P.S.
