Yes but was the Canada Goose thawed or frozen? Sorry, just me being silly again. 
Reference: recent episode of "mythbusters" (SBS TV)  investigating whether in testing aircraft engines for bird strike it makes a difference if the bird was thawed or frozen. An idiotic experiment if ever there was one!
The bird / plane issue is a consideration for Jerrabomberra but I reckon it is a bit of an excuse. Of course after a plane is destroyed on arrival or departure from Canberra, it will become more important. It is just a matter of time and probability. It is not just big birds that impact with planes. As birds are fairly light creatures and E=MCsquared, it is the velocity of the plane that is the major factor.
