More on Straw necked Ibis.  At Thredbo on Monday evening a flock of 200 to 300.  Also I can report a lot of dependant young Little Ravens, most pairs of adults had 2 young.  The species was hardly out of sight from the top of the chair lift to the roof of our fair land.  Also saw 4 Aust Kestrals just below the summit.

Question unrelated to birds.  When leaving Rawson's Pass on the return journey to Thredbo, there are animal tracks under the raised grated walkway.  These take the form of "runways" through the vegetation and can be followed for up to 20m or more.  This activity is evident for maybe 500 to 800m.  What animal is responsible?  It strikes me that the grate provides excellent protection from winged predators.
