This time I have seen the comments from Ian and
Mark before sending my own. As before, I'm in independent full agreement with
them. Actually looking at the available field guides, there is a big difference
in illustrations of the juvenile Pallid Cuckoo. The pictures in P.P.& R
Slater, Simpson & Day are very good, Pizzey & Doyle and Morcombe are
mediocre and Pizzey & Knight is terrible. I'd even say that sometimes the
mottled grey and white of a juvenile Pallid Cuckoo can even resemble an untidy
cockatiel.
