Hi Rod,
Not having been there, I'd suggest if you thought
it was a Purple Swamphen that the fox was carrying, then I'd suggest you were
most likely right. I'd think a swamphen would be an easier catch for a fox than
a raven. It would not be unusual for a Raven to see what happened and chase a
fox (two options: general agro or a hope to steal a free meal).
