I'm curious about this "millions of dollars for a ridiculous fence round Mulligans" I am not sure of the real story yet but I wonder if it
is a bit of folly for the rarely available conservation dollar. Fencing of
reserves is very expensive and has been shown to be very effective for specific
small areas to protect specific populations of animals (generally terrestrial
mammals) on which a lot of effort has already been spent to preserve such
populations. Is Mulligans Flat in the same sort of category
as that, or would limited funds be better devoted elsewhere? What is at threat
there?
