I got up, and yeh it was a Koel.
Hardly a reason for getting up at four in the morning.
 
Is there an MP3 of a Koel on the web anywhere ? so i can convince the person who started all this.

Hi Roger

it would be very exciting if it were an owl but logically and
probably it is most likely a Koel.  Of the Tyto owls the falling bomb
call of the Sooty Owl is the nearest thing to a whistle.  If insomnia
strikes I will check it out.
