Anybody tossing up whether to brave the showers forecast for Sunday's
walk might be encouraged by the results of my recce this morning with
Lindsay Nothrop. A Turquoise Parrot in the depths of Hospital Creek
and then 6km away and an hour later, another one, this time a female (or
immature?). Noticed and recognised by Lindsay of course.
Other sightings included Lyrebird, Gang-gangs and at the carpark were
Rufous Songlark, Diamond Firetail and a Brown Treecreeper. There's still plenty of room as numbers are relatively modest at this time. With cooler weather forecast this will be the place to be (and who cares if we manage to bring on a shower or two while we're walking, something COG trips haven't been able to do this spring since the thunderstorm at Campbell Park drenched us all on the raptor twitchathon.
