I don't know if they are 'regular' tucker or not, but in my yard in
Downer early one frosty morning, I once saw a currawong trying to fly
with a rat. The currawong could only get about 5m between flights,
either dropping the rat, or landing to have a rest. And as the rat was
still warm and limp I jumped to the conclusion that the currawong had
only just caught it.

Subject: Currawong
Pied Currawong spied this evening with a rather large rat in its beak -
this
in MY backyard. (Neighbours at the back have chooks which probably
attract
them). The bird took off when disturbed, only just managed to clear the
back fence as it struggled under the weight! We have found partially
consumed rat carcases before and assumed, possibly incorrectly on
current
evidence, it was the
work of the neighbours cat. Does anyone know if rodents are regular
Currawong tucker?
Cheers
