Pied Currawong spied this evening with a rather large rat in its beak - this in MY backyard. (Neighbours at the back have chooks which probably attract them). The bird took off when disturbed, only just managed to clear the back fence as it struggled under the weight! We have found partially consumed rat carcases before and assumed, possibly incorrectly on current evidence, it was the work of the neighbours cat. Does anyone know if rodents are regular Currawong tucker?
