Fyshwick Ducks

Frank's email on duck numbers at Fyshwick
has prompted me to share the following information from my monthly waterbird
counts at Fyshwick SP.

Here are some sample species:

Subject	[canberrabirds] Rose Robin & Jerra ducks
Classification

Not a great photo, but I saw this male Rose Robin in ANBG on Sunday, 30
July, up at the top end of the gardens, near the gate through to Black
Mountain and Telstra Tower. Unfortunately, still no Pink Robin, or Scarlet
or Crescent Honeyeaters for that matter!

On a visit to the FSP on Saturday, 29 July, I counted 122 Pink-eared Ducks,
so numbers of this species appear to be increasing.  Most others were
down
though - no more than 60 Hardhead, 20-30 Shoveler, less than 20 Grey Teal,
no Chestnut Teal, 6 Blue-bills (4 male), no Freckles.
1 pale morph Little Eagle and a Brown Goshawk.
