G’day all,

While not strictly in COG chat-line territory………….

This is a request for information to help me plan potential overseas birding holidays. Has anyone been to Thailand – based in either Bangkok or Chiang Mai - and done any birding using a professional bird guide. If so, how was the guide, what was the birding like and do you have contact details? I spent a short time in Bangkok when travelling to and from Sri Lanka earlier this year and managed to undertake two very touristy trips out of Bangkok – oh the frustration of not being able to stop the bus to look at all those little and not so little beasties sitting on the telephone wires or feeding in rice paddies - AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

Likewise if anybody is looking to do an overseas birding trip and would like some ideas on where to go I can give people contacts for Singapore and southern Malaysia - (there is a LOT more to Singapore than the shops!!), and Sri Lanka, where hopefully the ethnic troubles will soon be resolved. I will be away in Europe in August and September so please contact me before or after then.

Any information gratefully received.

Thanks in advance,

Mark
