Pizzey describes it as: a sharp ‘tick’, like snapping twig.

 

I too heard the call when observing the bird and that’s exactly what it sounded like. I’d never heard one call before.

The P Robin was at the previously reported spot again this morning  -  although only for relatively brief periods.  On this occasion, as it was calm with little garden racket, an aid to locating it was its soft but distinct 'tick'.  [ "Attention may first be attracted by hearing Tick ... which is said to be the normal call."  -  HANZAB ]
