I think it was probably the waves.  The platform was quite low. And the surf would have had the full length of the impoundment to build up.

The nesting Great Cormorants at Qbn Sewage Works are nesting no more.  The nest on top of the metal box has completely disappeared and the other nest on the deck of the pontoon is now only a few sticks – perhaps this happened in the wild weather last week.  The Great Crested Grebe has also moved on.
