On Sunday 7 am Superb Parrots were feeding on mown wild oats outside the Horse Pound at Cook. One male and a harem of c. 14 females. The young (two groups of 4-5 )were stashed in nearby eucalypts, and were eventually fed (it always looks like force-feeding), A much better place for a feed than on spilt grain on a road.

Further back near the bike path small groups of young and a few females were fossicking in young eucalypts and an acacia. Don't know if they found anything.

This a.m. about 40 were airborne over the north of Wybalena Grove, where there is a big stand of Kangaroo grass. Maybe they are waiting for it to be mown?

Dollar birds - there is a dearth of dollarbirds in this area. Saw a pair at the beginning of the season 1/2 way down Bindubi, but they flew on. Not heard or since.
