Have done so. Benj and I have repeatedly (see my 2 earlier messages) raised
the food issue as the probable cause (given early-growth, early-drying
conditions to the west and north) and perhaps some opportunities to report
what the SPs here are eating, specifically, are being missed.
On a related matter I am getting reports that in the Griffith area Painted Honeyeater nestlings are dying in the nest, apparently because of the conditions, despite a good, but early, crop of mistletoe. Anecdotally, some local nesters seem to be having a hard time of it, too. |
