YF Honeyeaters

Lots of YFHE everywhere (not one WNHE tho) and they do seem confused with the conditions over the weekend don't they?  I had flocks of up to 30-40 goin round in circles in Scullin!  A constant stream was heard all day whilst preparing the vegie patch for a summer without stage 3 water restrictions.  Stirred up the currawongs everytime a particularly large and vocal group came thru.  Also heard the Rainbow Lorikeets about somewhere in the wind and a couple of flocks of silvereyes.

I can see the resident wattlebirds chasing YFHE around the carpark here at Symonston as I am writing this. The planted grevilleas are in full flower and they are teeming with YFHE.  Last year there was a large flock of WNHE that hung around for a few days also making the most of the flowering grevilleas and hopefully they'll make their, as usual, late appearance.

cheers, Alex.

We had a small flock of very active and vocal YFHEs this morning in Cook.

Just spotted the first YFHE of the year fluttering around with the spinebills at the bottom of the garden.
