I also had a similar 'rare' sight a day earlier. I wonder if winter stragglers were leaving before the oncoming cold front.

No less than 20 Dusky Woodswallows present at my GBS site in Ngunnawal on Saturday morning in rain. At least a dozen hawking around my carport- a first in the 4 years I have lived here.

A stroll around Gungahlin Lakes Golf Course revealed a total of ~30 Duskies feeding on insects from the greens and adjacent acacia. They were sitting quietly on the greens mostly.

Around 24 other species also present on the golf course including large numbers of Red-rumped Parrots, Goldfinches,Straw-necked Ibis and Purple Swamphens. Ginninderra Creek itself was a raging torrent and the golf course was closed.

Cheers
Marnix
