G'day,

I recollect a British doco that screened several years ago where it was pointed out that the decline in sparrows in Britain correlated with the introduction of unleaded fuel. However the sparrows at Cowra, that clean the insects from the front of refueling vehicles at the loal servos, don't seem to mind the fuel laden environment.

As for the Starlings, the numbers are down in the Carwoola area but that could be because of the drought and the lack of sheep to perch on. On a more serious note the Starling roosts at Gosford railway station (in the palm trees) were a big problem. I am visiting Gosford this week so will report back on the Starling situation upon my return.
