I finally got some time this morning to go out to the site which people have been reporting for the last few weeks.  On arrival around 6.30am, a flock of 25 parrots feeding in a large Apple Box in flower just on the northern side of the reservoir.  These flew off about 400 metres north to trees around a small dam, where other birds joined them in groups, feeding (possibly on lerps or insects), then various flocks progressively flew back in the direction of the reservoir.  Over the next hour or so at the reservoir the birds were flying around everywhere, including sitting close to ground in shrubs near the drainage ditch, being hassled at times by Pied Currawongs and Noisy Miners.  I estimated 67 parrots this morning.  They were still there and waiting a chance to go down to drink when I had to leave at 8.30am.  Quite a few people walking by with dogs running around this morning, and the parrots did not get much peace and quiet for drinking.
cheers
