There were good numbers of Swift Parrots at Mt Majura again this morning
with at least 60 birds present again after fewer birds being present at the
site yesterday. When I first arrived at the site there were flocks
scattered in all of the bushland around before they concentrated back in
the same area they have been seen all week. Yesterday I tried to see if I
could find where they were roosting but they all took off in seperate small
flocks over the suburbs to the NW and W of the reservoir. They were flying
quite high and went a fairly long way so I eventually couldn't see them
anymore. Any information people can find out about where they may be
roosting would be great.
Enjoy the birding...

Kathy and I went on a walk around our neck of the woods this morning and
were surprised to see 14 Swift Parrots fly over us in a tight flock about
10m up along Major's Close (about 1km from our place). They were flying in
an easterly direction and didn't land anywhere within view. This is our
first sighting of this species in Wamboin. Are any missing from Mt Majura?
