Ive found on several visits there in the past few years that Cuumbeun NR is a good site for seeing Spotted Quail-thrush.
I have also searched, unsuccessfully, for Chestnut-rumped Heathwren there on many occasions.

I'm glad there was a bit of life there.   When the  area was made an NR and ceased to be available as the 'Scabbing Flat'  orienteering map, I was sceptical about what kind of assessment had been made of  its real value.  On a visit there about a year ago it seemed that its use  as a dumping ground for builders' refuse had increased, if  anything.
