Being in the vicinity, I went to discover this suburban oasis.  I didn't know it existed until the email traffic this week.
 
Didn't see any crakes or rails. Instead, I saw a Brown Quail fly out of the surrounding grass at the northern end and disappear in grass near the pond's outlet.  Also what I suspect was a Collared Sparrowhawk carrying breakfast in its talons flew over and landed in the Eucalyptus Cinerea on the eastern side.
 
Gang-gangs also heard in the area.
