Barbary Dove (Streptopelia roseogrisea) (2) First time seen at this location

Gull-billed Tern (Sterna nilotica) (7) Resting on sand spit with Crested Tern.

Date: Wednesday, May 20, 2015

Location: Bold Hill Port Wakefield

Double-banded Plover (Charadrius bicinctus) (5) Birds were feeding along with 
good numbers of Red-capped Plover and Red-necked Stint.

Bar-tailed Godwit (Limosa lapponica) (18) In and close to the water line.

Great Egret (Casmerodius albus) (80) This very large group were resting close 
into the mangroves.

Ruddy Turnstone (Arenaria interpres) (30) Flock were feeding on the edge of a 
shallow salt pan behind the shacks at the northern end of the beach.

Double-banded Plover (Charadrius bicinctus) (8) Birds were resting in weed 
along with 15 Red-capped Plover and 15 Red-necked Stint.

Little Black Cormorant (Phalacrocorax sulcirostris) (1) Sharing with Pelican -

Australian Pelican (Pelecanus conspicillatus) (1) Sharing with Little Black 
Cormorant - photo attached

Hoary-headed Grebe (Poliocephalus poliocephalus) (1) Many on all ponds - Photo 
attached

Purple Swamphen (Porphyrio porphyrio) (1) Only saw one up in the reeds - Photo 
attached

Black-winged Stilt (Himantopus himantopus) (1) Mainly in the top pond in bird 
hide area - Photo attached

Wood Sandpiper (Tringa glareola) (1) Four only in the distance in the top pond 
- (poor) photo attached

Red-kneed Dotterel (Erythrogonys cinctus) (1) About a dozen mainly in the top 
pond - Photo attached

Australian White Ibis (Threskiornis molucca) (1) Only saw 2 for the morning - 
Photo attached

House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) (1) Here and there along the wires - photo 
attached

Black-shouldered Kite (Elanus axillaris) (1) One in the distance hovering. It 
captured something and flew to a nest, dropped it in and flew away. (poor) 
photos attached
