I've heard complaints about their increasing hobby use in the USA from people
on the naturerecordists list, due to the amount of noise they make, so I assume
they're noisy enough to scare birds.
I've occasionally wondered if it would be practical to mount a camera on a
remote control boat or vehicle have it approach birds like crakes in swamps or
waders on mudflats at extremely low speed.
