Stay at Somerset, it's as good as any. You might NEED a car but there are
very few cars available for hire but there are plenty of push bikes for your
weary old legs. When I was there they were free from Somerset.

Hi all,

I'm thinking of going to Lord Howe Island at some point this summer, and I'm
looking for some logistic pointers from birders who have been there in the
past. In particular I'm looking into accommodation, and I'm wondering if
anyone can recommend a place they have stayed? I'm also curious to know if
you need a car to get around, or can you hire a bicycle or will walking
suffice for most things?

I'll ask about wildlife specifics once I know when I'm going.

Cheers,
Chris Sanderson
