I recently watched a pair of Rainbow lorikeets checking out a tree hollow
beside the Maroochy River in Qld. The only unusual feature was that the
hollow was only about 4 inches above ground level. The birds actually landed
on the ground to hop inside and check it out.

Has anyone seen lorikeets nesting particularly low? I know that budgies
will nest on the ground when all the available hollows are taken.
