I'd say criteria for non-birders are: big, colorful, unique and easy to spot:
e.g. Emu, Southern Cassowary, megapodes, Little Penguin, possibly albatrosses,
parrots, kingfishers/kookaburras, frogmouths, lyrebirds, bowerbirds,
riflebirds, finches

These are not necessarily in order

Black-necked Stork

Comb-crested Jacana

Splendid Fairy-wren

Red-bellied Pitta

Superb Lyrebird

Rainbow Bee-eater

Azure Kingfisher although I guess more tourists would prefer Laughing Kookaburra

Bourke's Parrot

King Parrot

Palm Cockatoo

It's hard to see birds through the eyes of a non birding tourist.

Hope everyone had a peaceful time over Easter.

Fiona
