Another point that just occurred to me is that many State and Local governments are now busy banning or restricting certain breeds of dogs that are deemed "dangerous" (pit bull terrier etc). There would be existing breeders of these animals that are losing out on sales. I have no idea what their state of compensation is or was, but it seems to me to be a far stronger case than these would-be Savannah Cat importers.
