Mysterious birdcall in Blue Mountains at night

Hello All, firstly a Happy New Year to all of you.


We have been visiting Springwood  in the Blue Mountains  over the past
couple of weeks and are here for a few more days.

I wonder if locals could suggest a few locally productive sites.

Secondly, there is a bird here that makes a beautiful cuckoo call at night,
could anyone suggest what it might be, it often seems to start an hour after
dark and run into the middle of the night.
