Hi Carl,

Did you note the relative length of the tail and the amount of streaking on the breast of the Marbled? These are important characters. I would not have thought that a Marbled would appear more heavy set than a Tawny. People with more experience with the species than me might like to comment.

The paler colouration may just reflect the sex of the bird. I would think that on average Tawny males would be paler than Marbled males.
