Well Tony can speak for himself but assuming Murray's quote is correct, (I
haven't seen the book and now may not as it would seem to be unreliable), I
regard that statement as absolutely ridiculous and very offensive. Written
by Paul Scofield I guess. Such arrogance, setting himself above the initial
observers, the eight adjudicating members of Birds Australia's Rarities
Committee and experts consulted.
It seems their taxonomy is equally nonsensical. Sorry Russell.
