Hi,
The tattler at Boat Harbour is said to be Wandering Tattler because of its
slaty grey plumage, its call and habitat. The primary projection is the same
length as the tail, but this feature has appeared in many Wandering Tattlers
photographed in Australia.

On my last trip on 01 April, I took a few photographs of the tattler at Boat
Harbour that show some barring on the rump. According to "Waders of Europe,
Asia and North Ameria" by Message and Taylor, this should point to Grey-tailed
Tattler!

Interesting also the bird photographed a week earlier on 24 March did not show
any barred rump, or was the lighting not good enough for this one? Or was it
different bird?

I still think and hope that this is Wandering Tattler. Look forward to your
comments. My full blog link is http://lazybirder.blogspot.com/
