Regarding Evan Beaver's report of Little Lorikeets at Lapstone in the Lower Blue Mountains, and Mike Simpson's report of them in Penrith at the foot of the mountains. This summer I've been seeing Little Lorikeets in a number of places around the Blue Mountains, including a flock of 20 seen a few times recently near Blackheath. This is the highest number I can ever remember seeing in the mountains.

Also, regarding my recent posting about Cicadabirds in the upper Blue Mountains, on Sunday I found yet another Cicadabird calling, this time at Kings Tableland. That makes 3 records this season in an area where they are not normally found (at this altitude).

Glossy Black-Cockatoos are also suddenly reappearing in some of my usual birding sites after a bit of a dearth for the past few months.

cheers,

Carol
