Hi Evan,

Interesting that you spotted Little Lorikeet at Lapstone this week as I was
just going to post an email that I have seen Little Lorikeets in Penrith
this week for the first time in the 7 years we have been here. (For those
who do not know this area, Lapstone where Evan lives can be seen from
Penrith, but is on the lower slopes of the Blue Mountains, so is several
hundred metres higher in altitude).

This week during several visits to the Shell service station on Mulgoa Rd.
Penrith which is in the middle of a stand of eucalypts surrounding the Grey
Gums Motel and a well known roost for various parrots, I have seen:-

Rainbow Lorikeets (hundreds)
Scaley-breasted Lorikeets - 1 pair
Little Lorikeets - 3 possibly two adults with a chick, they appeared to have
a nest hole in one of the trees
Little Corellas
Long-billed Corellas
Sulphur-crested Cockatoos
Red-rumped Parrots (on the grass below the trees).

Regards, Mike Simpson
Penrith, NSW, Australia
