Dear Russell, Tony and all,

I had to laugh at my 12 year old daughter's incredulous reply when I told her about all the people going to see the BJ Lapwing.... She said "Couldn't the first person who travelled to see it just have sent everyone else a photo of it? That would have been SO much easier."

I think next on HER reading list is my copy of Sean's "The Big Twitch" hopefully ensuring that she becomes a little more enlightened to some of the finer complexities involved in being a birder.

Cheers,
Karen
(unfortunately also GHL-less)

Yes, probably some sort of record. I wonder if we've had someone come from Russia to tick a rarity here before? Does anyone know of anyone from India or Burma etc who has been to see the BJ Lapwing - a bird they get at home?

Let's hope we can get the number up to 400 or more. Let's hope I'm one of 'em!!

Russell
