E-mail address are actually (slightly) disguised in the birding-aus
archive.  It, and the method mentioned above, could be circumvented
by an by adding a single line of code to an e-mail harvesting script -
but as far as I can tell, none bother.

A test address I've put in the birding-aus archive has never received
any spam.  The new birding-aus archive has more elaborate protection
of e-mail addresses.  But its still offline pending the arrival of a
new disk.
