spam on birding-aus

 I would suspect Koren that , some one has responded to the message , probably  in jest  or requesting that no further mail be sent , this identifies us as  a” live target “

 Possibly this is what differentiates the people that think they have been harvested ?

 

 

 Although ive been  on the list many years, although infrequently post    I get virtually no spam sent to my personal address , and only the  few per week  with a birding aus  header , usually  only some poor soul  trying to find some one to share a large sum of money with

Just to note, I have received at least 6 spam messages in the last day that were sent to the birding-aus mailing list (they have the [BIRDING-AUS] tag in the subject line). There seems to be a spate of them at the moment (maybe they somehow detect the word "spam" in the subject line in the archives).

My question stands, how are these spammers getting access to the mailing list?
