Hi Rachel and welcome to the list. The first thing you need to do is to stop feeding the birds - nice to have them around but not good for the birds. Then watch what happens - watch where the birds move off to and what they are doing. This may give you some idea of which of the surrounding forest is important to them and where the bower ( if any) might be.  Then get stuck into your blackberries.
