I thought about this last night and Tony, I think (some of the) Adelaide
birding set is as much part of what you see as a problem you're trying to blame
on others. From memory, a lot of the email traffic in regards to the Hudwit at
Werribee was from people who'd seen it, were going to, or were discussing ID
matters. "Our" Hudwit must now have been seen by over 30 people, however so far
only 4 of those have discussed it somehow on b-a. Are the other 26 birders not
subscribed to b-a? If not why not? From some of the discussion I overheard on
Monday while staring at the Hudwit some of the birders there still live in the
dark ages in regards to the internet and e-mail... they see it as a threat
rather than a helpful tool.
