g'Day All

This afternoon, (13/03/02) about 7 intrepid (or decrepit) observers
enjoyed watching the Hudsonian Godwit found by David Harper earlier in
the week at Penrice Saltfields. About one hour before sunset and
bathed in perfect sunlight, this very obliging bird took up its roost
with 40 Grey Plovers at S 34.42.333, E 138.29.755. At a viewing
distance of about 40 metres east from the road embankment, it provided
fine views with the sun setting behind us. The bird has been reliably
located here, coinciding with high tide, since David first reported it.

Residing less than 10 minutes away from the locked saltfields entrance
gate to which i have a key, I am happy to assist anyone wanting to have
a look.
