Hi Everyone

Lots of list members seem to be inspired by Harvey Perkins' great 'Where Am I?" quiz. It's the sort of thing that could generate a lot of mail quickly! What I've suggested to Harvey is that we can run these on the birding-aus website (and thus avoid cluttering the mailing list too much). I've already put up a temporary page and linked it to an online 'guestbook' where anyone can record their guesses. If all goes well in the next hour or so I should have the following in place:

* A page on the birding-aus site for the "Where Am I?" quiz. I think we should limit it to one (or possibly two) every few days - probably settling down to about 1 every week. Responses would be wiped every time we update the quiz.

* An archive of "Where Am I" birdlists with the answer and successful guesses (it might be interesting to store ALL the guesses but I think the Internet is quite big enough as it is).

* "Where's Lawrie"? Quiz number 2, submitted by Lawrie Conole.

If anyone has any problems with all this (esp. Lawrie and Harvey who actually 'own' the first 2 quiz lists, and Harvey the idea) please get in touch.

Can I ask that you send your lists to me (not to the mailing list) and I'll put them on the website in turn?

Here's the address by the way:

http://www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/ and click the link called "NewStuff" (I'll do a new button pointing to the quiz itself eventually)

Thanks

Russell
