This morning (Wed 8/8) I took visitors Ed and Natasha Smith from England
out to the Western Treatment Plant (Werribee Sewage Farm, Vic) looking for
a few species they missed on previous visits to Australia (we got 2 out of
3 for Ed, one more for Nat). Sightings which might be of interest to
Birding-aussers included:
1.	Close views of 3 Orange-bellied Parrots (which elevated the pulse rates
and spirits of all three of us);
2.	Approx 30 Double-banded Plover close together on a small sand-island at
the mouth of the Little River, most in full or near-full breeding plumage;
3.	A Peregrine Falcon, and an adult male Swamp Harrier (only 2 metres from
the car), feeding on separate portions of Pink-eared Duck on the road along
the western bank of Lake Borrie, attended at times by another Swamp Harrier
and a Brown Falcon.
Regards.      Richard
