g'day all,

Last week some visitors and I saw all 3 species of our local Red-backed, White-winged, and Variegated Fairy-wrens feeding together.

The breeding males were sporting brand new feathers after a number of weeks being indistinguishable from the females and non-breeding males.

They appeared luminous in the afternoon sun !

Today, only the Red-backed and Variegated were sighted.
There were several plumaged males of each species

Regards, Bob Forsyth, Mount Isa, NW Qld.
