Today around 6.30pm, I watched an unusual green parrot feeding on small
native figs? around the Capral carpark on Unwin Street Rosehill/Granville in
an industrial area near the Parramatta River in Sydney's central west.

The parrot was all green with blue tinge to the primaries, green tail with a
lighter pink undertail, bright orange bill and appeared a bit larger than a
Rainbow Lorikeet.

In my field guides the only similar bird was a female Superb Parrot which
would be out of range on the coast. Is this a likely cage bird escapee in
Sydney? I didn't see any ring. Does anyone have any suggestions? It was
feeding quietly close by several Black-faced Cuckoo-shrikes.
